How to empty water from basement washing machine full of rain water?
My washing machine drum is half-full with water. I haven’t done laundry lately but it is raining heavily. How would rain water get in the machine and how can I empty it and stop it from filling again? It is a Neptune Maytag front loader. My basement sometimes floods. We have a sump pump going. The washing machine is on a platform about 3 feet up from the floor, so it is not being flooded from the floor – maybe a drain? What can I do to empty it, and what can I do or who should I call so it doesn’t fill again?
i would go to home depot and get a large wet/dry vac and suck it all up……not sure about the foundation w water to keep it out again…drain would be good but how areyou going to make sure itdoesnt collect water under house?wheres it draining to?if it collects under house causes foundation problems.
