What techniques used to evoke emotions video games?
The video games better – my opinion – are those that break the shell of protection the player. In general, we are protected from the reality of the game. Usually it is a necessary thing for the premise of the game, your player is not a typical MW2 trained soldier and therefore needs the comfort of "this is a fantasy" to be able to play a role. However, many games today try to catch the played by the intestine. Alyx Vance comes to mind. How do you think that this is done? What does it take to make us feel the emotion of a few pixels in our screens?
Good story lines, characters you can relate to, and good graphics. Final Fantasy 7, for example. The death of a person affected many that as the series. So much so that a hack has been created to bring it back, despite not working properly. I heard a rumor that the creators of Silent Hill to use psychology for your next game. It will involve the player taking a test. The test will reveal the fears of the player and the game will act accordingly.
