I need to know the effects of guilt in the scarlet letter of a speech in English. anyone who can help please?

from what I remember, Hester (it was not the hero?) really could not capture happiness – for herself and for her daughter. while she, as an adult, can bear solitude, self-imposed "exile" and social ostracism, which would be the consequences for innocent daughter? being and feeling guilt and atoning personal level is one thing, but having to deal with that guilt every day in the form of the letter, in the eyes of strangers, even, can be quite something. requires a strong will and character. which can also act as a constant reminder to others who may be tempted or even could have committed adultery, but they were caught … I wish I could remember more details … Hope this helps all the best
