Sedan Friction
is to put snow tires on the rear wheels forward inre car fuel efficiency?
Hi I have a drive sedan front and a pair of snow tires on front wheels. In the summer should be moved to the rear to increase fuel efficiency? as far as I know, the rear tires do not wear much, so it must be subjected to much less friction than the front.
Someone has given him a lot of education on tires. In winter, if you only have two winter tires are on the back, period, and no matter if you have front-or rear-wheel drive. It sounds logical that they put on the front, because you think you need traction to get going. However, in the snow, if you have more traction front of the back, and you have to make an emergency stop, the back to slide out of control so fast that it will be impossible for you to compensate, and was drifting in an uncontrollable spin. Winter tires with a tread heavier wear out too quickly if driven in the summer, no matter what the wheels are. The rear wheels always need at least as much traction as the front, preferably more, to avoid turning on the snow, ice, and rain.

Honda Civic Si: From the tailgate to Sexy Sport Compact
As if the Honda Civic was not attractive enough from the beginning, the manufacturer car added a sports car version of its already successful line of more than 20 years ago. In 1984, the line of Honda Civic adds a sport, "Yes", meaning for Sport injected. The car was a hatchback with two-tone paint (only choices being blue, red on black or gray), a roof electric sliding and sport seats.
Since then, the Honda Civic Si has become a sedan sexy four-door. We follow your changes.
The first days
It is hard to imagine a hatchback so sexy, but in the decade 1980, a market of sport compact car enthusiasts emerged, giving the "Yes" an instant fan base. However, the Honda Civic Si was not just sport in name only. Its second generation, ranging from 1988-1991, appears hard-core options, like a larger exhaust pipe and bars front and rear anti-roll. The double wishbone suspension at all four corners and lower wind resistance was a favorite of racing fans.
By 1992, the Honda Civic Si is legendary Honda VTEC ® engine technology, allowing drivers to go from zero to 60 mph in just 8.9 seconds (a feature of most the drivers were eager to try).
After a brief commercial break …
The Si is absent without leave since 1995 until 1999. Whether Honda plans to stop manufacturing the full model was influenced by the enthusiastic Yes to bring it back, or if the car manufacturer used those years to improve the model, one can never know. In any case, in 1999, the Honda Civic Si returned, resulting in a Twin Cam VTEC ® four-cylinder with 160 hp strength, a rarity in the price point of Si.
Those who paid attention to notice the improvements in the model:
- Improving the intake manifold
- Low friction and high silicon pistons
- Larger throttle body
- Exhaust systems with larger diameter tubes
Some models of the Si offers anti-lock brakes, but Honda had not yet started pushing this in all models at this point.
Flash Forward
In 2006, Honda chose to move away from the hatchback model in favor of sophisticated sedan and coupe models. The model 2006 is the fastest of all models Honda Civic Yes, with an onset of 0-60 in 6.7 seconds.
The redesign of the Si allowed the introduction of a 4-door model in 2007, still brings all the advantages sporty Honda Civic Si, but in a more practical package for people with families.
