Raj Blue
I read an article five years ago in ancient Bengali culture. It said the men were wearing earrings and long hair.?
I recently received my ears pierced. I have a titanium inner ring Light Blue ball with a chrome-colored stainless steel ball on the left ear (wealth) and a blue claw shaped dark earring in the right ear (health) I did it mainly for spiritual purposes. Brahmins have karnavedha in childhood. Saiva Swamis and Sadhus have often too. It is supposed to stimulate psychic powers. I saw a picture in a book of Tantric Yoga meditation good with pierced ears. Shankar Bhagavan also have their ears pierced. This site at the old Bengal had said the men all wore earrings and long hair. Anyone could understand that the old Bengali culture before the British Raj to clarify and elaborate on this. I find it fascinating subject. I would be grateful if you could help me with this. By the way my father is Bangla (Kolkota) and my mother is Goa / Malayalee
Yes, you are right. According to the Indian Hindu tradition earlobe of a child (with regardless of sex) were perforated, and which was beneficial for the health of the child. It households. But still practiced in many as the son grows to wear earrings is discarded. But not in the old males is commonly used once only, but also outstanding hair. The force is maintained over a man who was said to reside in her hair. This was the case not only Bengali culture but that of the whole of India

My good friend told me about his trips around the state – "A few days after I Bonito, a small town, famous for its natural scenery and attractions. We have had pleasant experiences such as being awakened by the cry of colorful birds a sunrise at dawn. I visited a cave whose waters turn blue when the sunlight hit them; its walls were macaw nesting sites and the crystal waters are home to many different species of fish. Not far from the city there is a high plateau, filled with creations of nature, waterfalls and depths – is a beautiful region.
There are two ways to make a trip to Bonito – one is a direct flight to San Paulo airport Bonito through Campo Grande or a cheaper way would be an hour by bus 3253 kilometers from Campo Grande (quite a beautiful ride with interesting and beautiful landscapes sites along the way).
Bonito is a large town in the area of Mato Grosso do Sul, in the heart of title = "ecotourism"> eco-tourism in Brazil. Within the city are good shopping facilities, restaurants with flavor Brazil and some good entertainment and festivals. The best time to visit is between December and March, during the rainy season, with green vegetation, food abundant for the animals and rivers are high and the falls are spectacular.
I was interested in the brochures and learned of the Estancia Mimosa ecotourism:
1) TRAILS AND WATERFALLS: The trails are along the forest that borders the river and overlooking Mimosa eight cascades of various shapes and sizes – there are a hiker can find suitable places to swim in waterfalls or in the natural pools. Other sites along the way are small caves, suspended wooden walkways, a vantage point to watch the wonderful landscape, a boat ride and a 6-meter high diving board. Sounds like an unforgettable adventure.
2) TOUR OF BIRDS: Estancia Mimosa also offers a tour birding. The route passes through forest areas, open fields and mountains, located in an area within the Cerrado biome, which has a great environmental diversity 190 species of birds.
3) Horseback riding: The route is through the Rio da Prata Ecological Recanto, a typical farm in Mato Grosso do Sul The route passes through different farm environments: the open fields, small woods, nearby lakes, up hills. At the end of the journey you can enjoy the sunset on the travel between livestock, wild animals and birds of the region.
The brochures offer other activities that interest the title = "ecotourism"> eco-tourism
Note: Currently the Estancia Mimosa does not offer accommodation for the night due to renovations. There is a comfortable accommodation near the school with transportation – booking at these shelters can be arranged by your travel agent.
