Can my 2 year old son grows naturally in areas of agility?
My 2 year old pit Gus loves to run and jump. I know Pit Bulls are known to be active, but Gus goes further. My husband was putting on a series of sprinklers and when capped pvc pipe to put the lawn Gus was using up PVC pipe protruding from the earth as the poles agility. He also packed a "Race Track" in our new lawn because running laps around the backyard. And spend time playing with the swing in the yard and jumping and pushing. He has a lot of toys (including interactive los) and run with it daily, but this is What You do in your free time in the backyard. Could it be worth investing in some agility training for him? Anyone with experience with this sort of thing?
1. It is always a good idea to introduce a dog agility. Even if you never end up competing or take it seriously, here are a couple of benefits to doing only the agility in the classroom and the playground: – give your dog a job – it creates a better relationship between you and your dog: you become more of a team – the dog becomes more confident, more relaxed and confident – excellent design of the two is also very funny and addictive. That said …. 2. Please register for a class. Most beginners have no idea of what it takes agility. For example, by the obstacles is the least important part of agility. Humans wonder over these things and see how high your dog jumping, etc.. But from a standpoint of agility, which is the development bad habits (who does not want a dog that can jump as high as possible can – for a variety of reasons). Even if you never take other agility classes, an introduction is essential not to buy a lot of bad habits. 3. Many ways to find clubs and agility classes. Go to the website run clean (www.cleanrun.com) or go to agility trial and ask the competitors (ie, "exhibitors"), that is local that I recommend. You can find test www.agilityevents.net and this is a better option than clean run list, is out of date (and most coaches are not online or do not have websites). 4. Meanwhile, here are some things that will take you to a good start agility: – get smart clicker. There are a lot of misinformation going around by people who have no idea of "clickers" (which actually is operant conditioning). Operant conditioning is what all serious animal trainers used for tricks (as in Hollywood – dogs and creatures of the screen used in advertisements). This is what the Army uses to train dolphins to place mines. This is what SeaWorld trainers use with an orca or Belluga. And that's what all the serious agility competitor use. Being familiar with clicker agility accelerate their progress by 80%. – Start working on tricks. Tricks that teach you how dog learn, fun, the dog discovers that are the source of fun, and warm-ups are great agility. For example, I have taught my dog to weave between the legs (warming up before a performance of a course), crawl (muscles used dogs do not usually use) and jump to arms (as we always end our careers and agility that keeps us from the loss of a "Q"). – Working in the behavioral training (which requires be smart clicker). When you get into the conduct of training, the behavior of agility training (eg contacts) becomes much more easy. Focus your dog much better. And that'll blow your friends and family away. They'll think you're exaggerating on the dog's ability to learn and you show that wrong. Case in point: the family was together for Christmas and I was telling them about my dog behavior training for a sister-in-law was skeptical. I told him to invent something that I train my dog to do in 5 minutes or less. She said "open the paper (no break) and then walk in a circle in the opened paper "that had to do in 2 minutes, without pointing or do anything that she was surprised -… work in obedience to the agility you. requires a very good sit-stay, down stay, heel and recall. These are important because agility is naked (without a collar or lead) and there are plenty of temptations around. – Starting work on earthworks or circle work. This is the agility unhindered. Let me put it this way: Would you take a walk with his dog off leash and Gus have to stay with you even as you change the address or other temptations appear? If not, you're not ready for agility. You should be able running in a circle or a figure eight with Gus to be with you (not crawling, not driving, do not cross behind you). 5. For more information and start one, get a book on the speed of introduction. The best introductory books are: Joe and Ali Canova (theirs is the best), but Laurie Leach and Margaret Bonham are not bad either. But beware – agility training in the book is like learning martial arts or dance in the book.
