Baby Shower Games Ideas – Mother Goose Parade
Mother Goose is one of the most popular and most favorite nursery rhymes for most children. If this is your second child it would also make a great theme and an awesome way to have your firstborn or other children also be able to participate in the celebration and excitement of the new baby. Your existing children will love being involved and playing these baby shower games and hopefully will cherish the fun times and the arrival of the newly anticipated baby.
Here are some ideas on how to play Mother Goose Parade Baby Shower Games:
1. As an icebreaker, write the names of nursery rhyme characters on separate slips of paper and attach a slip to each guest’s back upon arrival. Challenge your children and your guests to learn the names on their backs by asking yes or no questions to the other guests. Award a prize to the last person to learn her nursery rhyme identity!
2. Play Mother Goose Rhetoric – Distribute a game sheet and pencils to your guests when you are ready to play this game and set a timer for five minutes. Challenge players to write down the first line of the nursery rhyme alluded to by each phrase. The player who gets the most correct answers in the least amount of time is the winner for this baby shower game. Award the prizes that correspond to each rhyme such as a pie pan for Little Jack Horner or a pair of mittens for the Three little Kittens.
3. Another great baby shower game is to make a storyboard for the future toddler. Provide wool felt in assorted colors along with scissors, glue, markers, fabric pains and many other embellishments that are not choking hazards to toddlers. Your guests can then cut the nursery rhyme characters and props from the felt.

Mother Goose?
Does anyone know the story of the MOther Goose rhyme’s? I heard it was all political and they all mean something other than just to read you the kiddies? If you read more into them they are great, you just don’t hear things like that anymore. Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater had a wife and couldn’t keep her, he put her in a pumpkin shell and there he kept her very well. ETC…
Mother Goose’s rhymes aren’t for the kiddies but actually they are for young women who would soon be mothers themselves someday. The rhymes dealt with the problems that women and mothers might experience into their womanhood. Some of the rhymes are actually sexually implicit.
E.g. Peter = slang for male genitals
Pumpkin Eater = cunnilinguist
Pumpkin = female genitals or pregnant belly
Peter would perform cunnilingus on his wife after he prematurely ejaculated and failed to sexually satisfy her or impregnate her to consummate their union.
Notice the word Pumpkin Eater
Pump = ejaculate
Kin = the seed or born relatives to be
Eat = to consume
Er = Her
Could it be that Peter was devouring his own ejaculate from his wife’s genitals before conception could occur? As Pumpkin Eater it could be asumed that he devoured the seeds of the pumpkin as well. Maybe Peter knew what he was doing or maybe he did not.
At any rate Peter’s wife would therefore wander off to mingle with other young men to see if it was her who was barren or could another impregnate her.
Some women feel like less than a real woman unless they have children. So Peter finally impregnated his wife and she developed the pumpkin gourd-vessel type figure typical of most women as their pregnancy progresses. Swollen from pregnancy yet feeling her womanhood fulfilled, Peter’s somewhat incapacitated wife is content in and within herself. She felt good emotionally within herself about the fetus inside of her. Peter may have kept her continuously pregnant afterwards.
This is for young women but not for kids.
