The right way to measure a horse for a saddle?
What is the best way to measure a horse saddle? I wonder the best way to check the seat adjustment. and measurements because the chair was sent to my horse, I think I pinched. I put in it once and for lunging, but it looked bad.
Put it on a cushion and loosely circumference. Does it look at the back? It should be. Walk this way, then check sweat marks. Should be evenly along the sides, where the bars of the tree in contact with the horse back. If there are gaps can be bridged in the center (not good). The handle must clear the withers, or mean the chair is too large and causing pressure wither. If you sit too high on the withers and feels tight in the shoulder area may be too narrow.
