The color of water personal reaction?
Can somebody help me to write a paragraph of personal reaction plz…
I had a personal reaction to this book because at one point the author describes a gentleman I knew. His real name was Pete, a handyman who drank, and had a girlfriend, Bertha, who worked as a maid. In McBride’s book he derogatorily describes Pete as an old drunk, which bothers me no end. I knew Pete liked to drink, but he was a good man.
Another personal reaction is the true picture of how Jews can be when a black person enters the family. I had a Jewish neighbor, Jimmy Fox; he and his wife adopted Allison, a black girl, and several of his cousins spoke against him. Another Jewish lady, Diane Frankel, married Monte Washington, a black man, but they were strong enough to stay married and build a loving family. A third situation was Morris and Esther Wilhelm. Morris was divorced; Esther was married to a black man who was killed during Viet Nam. Esther raised her kids for years by herself until she met and married Morris. She even converetd to Judaism to marry him. So, McBride’s mother wasn’t strong enough really to keep a marriage going, no matter what her son says.
