Where I can buy a baby lion cub for a pet?
My roommate and I want a baby has a pet lion and breed. When it is large enough we intend to give to a zoo. Does anyone know where to buy exotic animals -? Email me privately would be fine as well davethewave2787@yahoo.com
Hi Dave …. any wild exotic cat require a lot of time, attention, care, handling, and you can not eat ordinary cat food ONLY a raw diet w / vitamin supplementation or die of malnutrition, which happens so often with the new pet owners. exotic cats only link with one or two people at most therefore, would be willing to commit more than 20 years of his life for the sake of life exotic cats? You CAN NOT get out much or go on vacation or cat will never forgive you while you're away and dying of hunger, as only to trust anyone, but that feed it. Do you or your partner be able to afford to feed the diet it requires and meet legal requirements and which will to be inspected annually by the government … or decide that you can give it away because it becomes too much of a financial and emotional burden? Exotic cats should never be relocated, and ultimately, be a death sentence for them. They vital link with one or two people and if those people no longer exist cats Exotic can starve to death. exotic cats do not get along well with other pets and pet kill any smaller home coming in its territory, even if were raised as well as youth. As they reach sexual maturity (even geldings) are going to kill pets. Most exotic cats are solitary by nature, that is why. So, anyone saying that this is not being honest and this may Hearbreaker to discover firsthand how many people do. Here are some guidelines to owning an exotic cat. Please do not be fooled into believing that there will be less work than children they have! It is not for everyone. Do not make the mistake of believing that if they can not endure for the life of your cat, you can put in a zoo or a wildlife rescue. This error is What You get a lot of exotic animals slaughtered immediately, as they are very difficult to place. Zoos are full to capacity and have strict requirements on the animals they acquire for studbook breeding purposes and AZA (American Zoo and Aquarium Association) regulations. Compounds like Wild About Cats, Big Cat Rescue have to rescue some, but there is simply not enough sanctuaries for all. Therefore, taking into account that many people are determined to get a cat, no matter what they say, and that many people are capable of being responsible owners, we always advise on captive breeding. We want rather than these people were educated properly on care and management, rather than delivered on what they are doing is wrong. This is for the sake of the cats that did not ask to be born in these situations. If after reading this information you would like to know more about captive wild cat husbandry and whether or not for you. BOX boxes are not cheap to build, since they must be updated frequently since wild cats spray urine is degraded metal. You will need a cage of 300 to 800 square feet of preference. Given that will spend at least 20 years in this small space, obviously, the bigger the better. Must be made of gauge wire at least 9, preferably cyclone 9 gauge fencing. You must be at least 8 feet high with a roof. Denbox is needed. Usually constructed of 3 / 4 inch plywood or stronger, 3 'x 6' x 5 'tall. The door on the box will have a slider or guillotine door that can be operated from outside the cage to trap the cat in what you (and others when not at home) can enter the cage to clean and feed. The back of denbox must have some kind of hole to "bait" the cat in it, then slide the slider shut and lock. The main entrance to the enclosure should be double locked. Wherever you go in a door, close behind you in an entrance area, and then open the second door in the cage. Otherwise, the cat will have a direct line to exit. Most exotic cats love water and must be fitted with a swimming pool. This group should be disposable piping so that you will be able to clean it. Many cats like to use them to eliminate. The enclosure must have good drainage or on a slope, so there is no standing water when it rains. LICENSES You will need to contact your wildlife agency for mandatory requirements. Many places do not allow exotic felines. Therefore, you have to consult your city or county or state governments for information on licensing and zoning. And if you're within city limits, you may need city agency licensing also. At the federal level that requires a license issued through the USDA APHIS (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service). Have an inspector come and look at your wardrobe before authorization. Through that will to keep track of the diet, veterinary care, and have annual inspections (also subject to "drop" inspections throughout the year) before renewal. They also require that your vet visits at least every two years. USDI another regulatory agency (Department of Interior). They require licensing on endangered species only. If it does not guarantee any of the immediate removal and euthanasia of a cat. DIET REQUIREMENTS All species wildcat fresh raw meat need to survive. There are two main commercial carnivorous feline diets made for captive cats. One of them is Nebraska and one is the option Breeders. The price and availablility varies depending on where you are. Adequate quantities to feed daily is 1% -3% of body weight of the cat. These diets business are in a hamburger-like shape and frozen at 5 pounds. rolls. As a kitten, they will eat more because they are growing (5% of body weight) and requires extra calcium (powder form or chicken necks) for bone growth. Too much beef acts as a laxative. One of the advantages of commercial diets is preparation. It is fun to be killing an animal every few days and hard work. Another advantage is that the entire animal is used. The skin, hooves, bones, etc is all in the diet. Including zoological vitamins and minerals. People who try to make their own diet often can not get the measurements right or proper balance. Health problems due to malnutrition are common and costly. However, the disadvantage is that the consistency of commercial diets are not always to the liking of cats. I like the texture of bones and skin and also keeps their teeth clean. Therefore, it is a good idea to cut whole chickens. An example would be to use 50% and sprinkle Nebraska chicken/50% a little more zoological vitamins on the chicken. If a commercial diet is used, zoological vitamins should be added. There was one called Oasis Vitamins, but they have gone out of business. Another very important aspect to diet is fasting. Feral cats do not eat every day. Your digestive system is not designed to be constantly at work. It is much healthy for them to give you a break once or twice a week. We fast on Sundays. Sometimes faster than in both the Sunday and Wednesday and simply feed more in the days that feed so that the weekly intake is the same. EXOTIC VET This you will need to check for your area. If you ask at the National Veterinary local, one can refer to. Definitely, you should use a veterinarian who has experience with exotics. I have known cats that died without veterinary experience. They require unique vaccination programs, anesthesia, etc. You will need to locate a vet first, because USDA will need information about them before your license. We encourage spaying or neutering exotic cats (if not of traceable lineage valuable to an organized breeding program). If you are considering not spaying or neutering your cat, you should hear this recording of a female in estrus. Be prepared to listen to the endless weeks at a time and dealing with aggression to you! Spay / neuter will not stop an exotic cat urine spraying is. TRAINING AND SAFETY The most important information is needed in the management and training. This comes from experience. No matter how tame your cat, it can kill you if you do things wrong. Their behavior is very important for safety. The increase, handling and training of a young cat either make or break your ability to drive after the first year. And yet there is no guarantee handlable that particular maturity. Check yourself to ensure that walking and petting your cat is not the reason you will find one. Managing them for a younster year is not worth having to house and feed them and not able to play for the next twenty years as most exotic cats do not like to be held / Cuddling or touching, even. You should be prepared for the fact that you may be unable to handle your cat at all, except maybe a quick massage care through the fence. More often than not, this is the case. These are wild animals! Domestication takes thousands of years, not a few generations. See if you can volunteer somewhere that has exotic cats to learn all you can about behavior (yours and theirs). You can save your life, someone else, and happier to cat. Also for safety you should have a CO2 fire extinguisher (not Halon) to keep the side of the cage. If ever an attack or Excape, a blast of CO2 is harmless but scare a cat enough to Get Away or directly to where you want to go. Although the box does not take up much space on your property, be nice to have that area large buffer around your cat. Several acres is preferred. You do not want to be visible to the public. If so, build a wall. Once word spreads, people will come. Out of sight, out of mind. If they are tempted they will approach the cage and put his fingers in, get bit, and sue you. Always have locks on the both cage doors. Unfortunately it is not uncommon for angry people who do not pass will give you problems and / or poison or shoot your cat if they can get there. You must have a perimeter fence on your property. DISCIPLINE Any wild cat that receives traditional discipline with a jet of water on his face or a punch in the nose could be a death sentence for a landlord. These cats can be taught discipline as dogs and cats without taking into account this fact certainly get you killed by a wild cat.
